AsiaFest '10 (May 1, 11:00am to 5:00pm) at Haggard Park, downtown Plano

DAAYO will perform at 3:00pm at "AsiaFest '10" this Saturday (5/1).  We will also host a booth at the fair from 11:00am to 5:00 pm.  Please come by and see us at the fair.  We have parents already signed up to help at the booth.  However, we still welcome more parents and kids to come by and join us.

4/25 5:45PM Parent Association at PAJ

Thanks for the exciting turn out of many parents, we have doubled the roster in our parent association after 4/18 meeting.  Again, this Sunday (4/25) at 5:45 PM we will set up four tables on the back hallway of the SO/PO rehearsal hall.  For each of the seven committee, we want to have a "Committee Coordinator" be either volunteered, nominated or appointed this week.  At the same time we wish all the parent members in each committee can gather around to meet each  other and discuss the actions and future direction we will have for each of the committee.

For parents who have not yet joined, we welcome you to continue the enrollment if your time allows.  Either way, we want to hear from you any ideas or suggestions which can help DAAYO grow better.

The "Publicity Committee" will have our new poster and the foldable table display package ready to show you.  The new bookmark won't be ready until next week.

The "New Membership Recruiting Committee" please come to pick up the poster, especially the two biggest Chinese schools, DMCLS and Hwa-Hsin.

We need volunteer to help out Hillary in the "City Grant Application Committee".  Please don't be scared by the name of the committee.  Hillary just needs to have some extra helper so she won't be so lonely!

Thanks to Mrs. Shu-Ju Wang who is in "Publicity Committee", we have our new poster and bookmark designed.

Need SO/PO/YO volunteers for AsianFest 2010 (5/1. 3:00PM at Haaggard Park)

DAAYO will perform community service at the “AsianFest 2010” on Saturday, 5/1, 3:00 pm at Haggard Park, Plano. We need volunteer from SO, PO and YO to participate in this event. The music we are going to play are easy (all YO level). We are going to have only one rehearsal practice with YO on Friday, 4/30 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at PAJ. Mrs. Fox will be our conductor for this event.

 

Since City of Plano donates a lot of money to DAAYO, this is the time we want to pay back. In addition to the orchestra play, we will also have a promotion table in the park to show off DAAYO from 11:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. If you are in high school and need NHS volunteer hours, this would be a perfect opportunity.  Since the time span for this exhibition is 6-hours long, we need more people to involve.  Please respond to this blog or send e-mail to your SO/PO/YO Admin and indicate your name and the time slot you can volunteer.

 

Again, for your reference, the following are the schedule for this event:

 

1. Friday, 4/30: 6:30pm - 8:00pm rehearsal at PAJ.

 

2. Saturday, 5/1:

•     Meet behind the pavilion of Haggard Park at 2:30 pm
•     Bring your music stands, binders and a couple of clips in case it is a windy day.
•     Bring a water bottle, it may be hot.
•     Wearing DAAYO white polo shirts, long blue jeans, white socks, white tennis shoes.
•     Perform at 3:00 pm.
